SRG Global Announces Acquisition of Facility to House Advanced Development Center
Warren, Mich – November 9, 2009 -- SRG Global Inc., one of the world’s leading providers of advanced, high value coatings on plastics for the automotive, commercial trucking, and household appliance industries, announced today that it has acquired a facility that will house the SRG Global Advanced Development Center (ADC). The ADC, which will be located in Taylor, Mich., will allow SRG Global to develop the next generation of coatings for plastics in a manufacturing setting, thereby speeding development, testing and time to market. The ADC is expected to be fully operational in April, 2010. The announcement was made by Kevin Baird, president and CEO, SRG Global. “ The ADC offers a clear advantage to SRG Global customers,,” said Baird. “ They will benefit from accelerated delivery of breakthrough coating technologies due to our ability to develop and test in a real-world setting. ” The facility that will house the ADC was added as the result of the acquisition of an existing chrome-plating operation. In addition to the plating equipment currently housed at the 46,000 sq. ft. facility, SRG Global will add injection molding capabilities in order to produce original parts to which SRG-developed coating technologies can then be applied and tested. The ADC will develop technologies for its production facilities world-wide. About SRG Global: SRG Global, a Guardian company, is one of the largest plastic trim manufacturers in the world. The company, formed when Guardian Automotive purchased Siegel-Robert Automotive, is headquartered in Warren, Mich. and produces a wide range of high quality plated and painted injection molded products from manufacturing plants and design centers in North America, China and Europe.
